So I've finally gotten back to the garden, thank goodness. It's been too long. I've missed playing in the dirt! In the last update I made some promises and I can honestly say, I completed them. Go me!

Inside:

Inside we have the seeds starting. I made light boxes and even got myself some new grow lights.
  • Tomatoes- three different varieties. Floradade, which is supposed to be a good all around 'mater, German strawberry paste, and riesenstraube, which are a cherry variety. YUM!
  • Peppers- Black Hungarian Jalepeno, long purple cayenne, and a nice red Quadrato D'Asti Rossa bell.
  • Celery, Tall Utah. Same kind I grew several years ago, that got trampled by the roofers.
  • Herbs- Echinacea, thyme, hopefully to replace the two that died last year, and lavender for Goomba, with plans to add cumin, dill and basil when the thyme comes. Just a little garden humor.

Outside:

Outside I feel like I've done some serious work, but it might not sound like it. Here goes.
  • I planted red potatoes that were sprouting in container by the grill.
  • We've got onions on either side of the peas, both snow and snap
  • Carrots, bericulum 2, scarlet nantes, and danvers.
  • Lettuce- mesculan mix, gourmet blend heads, and iceberg A.
  • Spinach and rainbow chard, both of which are joining the lettuce an awesome cold frame I managed to build this spring. I'm so proud!
  • Started clearing up the raspberries,

Lastly, future plans;
    There is definitely going to be a garden expansion. Just trying to decide what I'd like to do first. And waiting on stones for the pathway, which may or may not happen. With stores closing due to this lovely virus, I may not have the chance to get them. It won't stop expansion, but I would like some uniformity. Maybe that's the slight perfectionist in me.

    But with that expansion I'm hoping to grow some things I've never grown before. It may surprise you to learn that never in my life have I ever grown pumpkins. Or winter squash (planning on butternut and acorn). Or corn, but the jury is out on that one. Not sure i have the space to make that a worthy venture.  Or eggplant. I know. I'm such a creature of habit. Working on changing that. Stay tuned!
