Danger in the garden

So as I was weeding the garden this week I discovered something growing that could pose a serious danger, not only to me, but Caveman especially.

It’s hard to tell size, but that’s nearly as big as Goomba’s head!
A big ol' wasp nest that has clearly been growing for the better part of the summer. I feel so bad for Goomba. She’s been telling me there are a lot of bees so she won’t play in the kiddie pool that we keep near the garden. Me being the mean mom I am, I’ve been telling her to suck it up. Now that I’ve seen the size of this thing, and really see how many wasps are hanging near the garden, I don’t blame her!
I guess we have to work on getting it down this fall/winter. Caveman wants to use spray, but I don’t want the chemicals in my garden. I’m thinking if we wait til it’s cold enough we can just knock it down without having to deal with the wasps. I’m a little apprehensive about this one. I’ll be dealing with it on my own with Caveman being allergic.
I'm open to any tips or tricks you may have!
