OK guys, this past year has been crazier than ever! Last summer, I started training to become a school bus driver. I can say, it was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. Since getting my bus license, I've been working so hard. Initially I took this job as a part-time, minor money maker, but Caveman hurt his back and ended up needing two surgeries. As of writing this, he's still not back to work, more than a year later. Its been a lot of early mornings, long days and late nights for me. Unfortunately, that means my house, my garden and my blog have all been neglected. Now that summer is coming, and school is finally letting out, things may slow down for me. I'm hoping to get a post in every week or so, if my schedule will allow. Keep checking in on me. If there's anything you guys want to hear about in particular, don't hesitate to let me know.

First off, I'm sorry. Due to some unforeseen medical issues, I've been away for quite some time. I could have made a few posts here and there, and I apologize for not doing so. I haven't forgotten about you, I promise.
If you can bear with me while I try to get a handle on all the things pulling for my attention, I promise I will continue posting at least once a week. For now, thanks for returning, or visiting for the first time, but most of all, thank you for understanding. It has been such a long week! Easter weekend was a blur, and Goomba’s spring break went by so fast, I can hardly believe it’s over. This past week, I have been wrestling with myself, feeling the weight of self-doubt and my own inadequacies. So I thought I would share with you some truth nuggets I’d been purposely leaving out. The Realities of our “Homestead”
I haven’t posted in a few days, and I’m sorry. It’s just been so busy around here. Goomba started Karate not too long ago, and Caveman has his Masonic functions and I’ve been working so hard out in the yard… Oye.
It's the first of April and it happens to be a Saturday, so Caveman and I decided to do a little home improvement. When we moved in the the caretakers apartment here, we knew there was quite a bit of work to do, and we got a lot done early on. But lately we've gotten into a rut. Yesterday Caveman suggested that we fix the light in the living room, so we did! Here's how it turned out: Too bad the new fixture and ceiling tile make everything else look so dingy. I think replacing the older tiles might be on our to do list. I'm just happy we have a real light fixture now. What do you think?
